We originally wanted to purchase a dresser for our son's room. We wanted a good quality dresser that would last for years. This would have cost us around $300- $500. However I found this deal for a used changing crib on a Facebook for sale site for $25. I asked if she would take $20 and she said yes. The changing table was made out of pine and the bones to it were in great shape. All it needed was a fresh coat of paint. We decided to go bold and to add a pop of color to his room. We choose a blue color. First we took out the drawers then sanded all of the wood that would be painted. Next we spray painted it. Finally we put two coats of polyurethane to give it a glossy look and feel. We were going to spray paint the knobs as well but my husband found these new knobs at Home Depot. The knobs are stainless steel square shaped knobs with rounded edges. I loved the rounded edges to the square knobs just in case our son ever runs into one. The rounded edge is better than a sharp edge! For this project we had to buy the changing table, spray paint, small can of polyurethane and new knobs. We spent a total of $60 which I thought was well worth it. The changing table serves its purpose for the time being and we can also upgrade it to a dresser later on in life! It also looks great and adds that personal touch to his room!
